Description
Generic plugin executor for Pandora FMS: a single Go binary that runs YAML templates to collect metrics (HTTP requests or local commands), extract values with jq/regexp filters, and deliver the resulting agents and modules via Tentacle, local XML, or as a software-agent plugin. Ships with ready-made templates, including drop-in replacements for legacy agent plugins.
Additional information
pandora-plugin_exec is a generic plugin executor for Pandora FMS that replaces per-technology plugins with a single Go binary plus a catalog of YAML templates.
Each template describes the work declaratively:
- Tasks — HTTP requests or local commands, run sequentially with variable chaining (login → token → authenticated request).
- Filters — jq or regexp expressions that extract values from a task's output into typed variables (scalar or array).
- Agents and modules — rendered from those variables with {{ }} expressions, for_each fan-out, and when: conditions.
- Transfer — delivery via Tentacle, local XML file, or as a software-agent plugin (module fragments on stdout).
It ships ready-made templates, including drop-in replacements for legacy agent plugins (df_used, mem_used, netusage), and learning examples for HTTP-API chaining and local-command monitoring. No runtime dependencies: the binary is static and embeds its own jq engine.
